Health Savings Accounts Are Here!

On December 8, 2003, President Bush signed into law the next generation of Medical Savings Account plans, called the Health Savings Account.

The biggest change in the law is that ALMOST EVERYONE can be eligible for the new HSA, effective January 1, 2004!

Similar to an IRA, the new Health Savings Account is a special tax-sheltered savings account for medical bills. It works in conjunction with a special low cost, high deductible health insurance policy to provide comprehensive coverage at low net cost for those who qualify.

To learn more about HSAs, you can download our newsletter, Health Savings Accounts: The Latest Chapter in Consumer-Directed Health Care. Or you can go to the IRS Website and see answers to frequently asked questions.
